Summer Beauty Finds

Summer Beauty Finds

With the end of summer in sight, it’s time to reflect, release and move forward with everything we’ve learned over the last few weeks. One thing is for sure... its out with the old and in with the new when it comes to Skincare for me. After my daughter turned 1 and I stopped nursing, I noticed a huge difference in my skin. A lot of products that I previously loved weren't given me the same results and my skin started to transform. I was constantly breaking out and my makeup wasn't setting on my face like it normally does. So on my recent trip to Boston, I walked into Sephora just to "look" for some new things to try and walked out with some amazing products that have really helped my skin come back to life.  Plus, I've really taken notes on some key tips & routine habits from friends and fellow bloggers/influencers to make sure I'm targeting concerns & problems I've faced in the past.

First tip that I wish I would have follow more closely in my twenties- Never go to bed with your makeup on!  Its the worse for your skin & clogs your pores. My struggle with removal of makeup has always been not getting everything off when it comes to my eye makeup. I've tired everything from makeup remover towelettes, cleansers and even a makeup remover cloth; yet, I still looked like I had raccoon eyes every morning.  Until I was introduced to Kopari Coconut Melt which has been my go to makeup remover for the last few weeks and I've kissed goodbye my raccoon eyes. It smells insanely good, leaves my skin hydrated and smooth and removes every DROP of my makeup. I know what you are saying..GIRL it's coconut oil. Just go to Trader Joe's and you are good to go. However, this is NOT your typical kitchen coconut oil. Kopari has developed this product to be 100% pure, organic, and unrefined coconut oil that melts on contact to provide rich hydration from head to toe. Don't need a makeup remove but are looking to add a natural dewy, glow to your body, you can use the Melt as a deep conditioning hair mask, massage oil, lip balm or super shave oil.

Raise your hand if you only ever put sunscreen on to go to the beach. This was totally me a few years ago & I've become a huge advocate of making sunscreen a ritual in your daily skincare routines. Our faces are always getting exposed to the sun and even though a lot of tinted moisturizers & foundations have SPF, I don't always use products that do. I had read about people hyping up SuperGoop! for a while and I decided to test out their Defense Refresh Setting Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 50, since I could easily refresh my face with sunscreen every hours will setting my makeup. The formula is water and sweat-resitant (yas queen!) and has antioxidant infused rosemary to help keep your face looking refreshed. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this product since it held my makeup all day even in hot, humid South Florida and I'll be making a trip to Sephora soon to buy the bigger bottle.

It's never to early to start introducing anti-aging products & after I turned 30, I desperately wanted to expand my product shelf to help me age backwards like Jane Fonda and J-LO. But anti-aging treatments can be pricey and time consuming, something not many of us have the luxury to indulge in. I was watching E! News when Bella Hadid's stepmom was being featured & the woman had to the most amazing skin. Completely smooth, radiant and firm that even the interviewer asked her what products she used because her skin was that insane. She mentioned that she religiously used Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel and I knew I had to try it. To say that I'm hooked is the understatement of the year. If you want to try any of the products mentioned in this blog entry, this would be the one to splurge & try. My skin looks brighter, feel firm & leaves me with a brighter, glower appearance since I've begun to incorporate this into my weekly routine. The two step formula contains seven acids that rejuvenates, balances and nourishes your skin while fueling it with anti-aging actives. Buy it, try it and thank me later.

I'll always remember my mom reminding me as a child to have my vitamins since it was good for me; but I never realized how important vitamins would be on my skin as I got older. When looking for products, make sure what you selects incorporates Vitamins C, E and B as they prevent the breakdown of collagen in your skin and help keep your skin balanced. Youth for the People's Superfood Firm and Brightening serum has a ton of great ingredients like Kale, Spinach, and Green Tea that combined with Vitamin C & hyaluronic acid makes this a potent elixir. I've been using it every morning & I've really like how a little of this product goes a long way. My face feels smooth, my pore look tighter & it gives me a natural dewy, glow that I always like to have.

My last tip always stay hydrated! Your skin need to be nourished and mousiturezed whether its blaring hot outside or freezing cold. Biossane Squalene & Probiotic Gel Moisturizer is the perfect lightweight product that leaves the skin looking brighter, balanced and reduces the appearance of pores. I love using this product in the morning before I put on my makeup, as it gives my face that wakeup it needs in the morning and calms any redness I may be dealing with at the time.

Hope you guys get an opportunity to try some of these products and they bring you success in the upcoming colder months as they did for me this summer. I'd love to hear about what worked for you, what did & what you are currently using that you think I might like to try, so feel free to comment below or contact me via Facebook & Instagram.

Ciao, Nico
