Cocktail Parties with a Bump (Outfit Details)

Cocktail Parties with a Bump (Outfit Details)

Let’s be honest finding a great piece to where for a special occasion can be tough. Now let’s add a growing bump to the mix and it’s pretty much the most demotivating task. My friends and family are fully aware that love to put looks together especially for big events since it’s a fun way to express your style & experiment with trends. Naturally, in my mind things always come together when I’m not pregnant but at 25 weeks with a growing bump, it’s extremely challenging and pretty much I’ve found myself loathing most of my wardrobe/looks that I pulled for a recent cocktail party.

With Penelope, I was really big on flowy pieces because I felt it was the most flattering for my belly/body type. Crazy me figured the same would reign true with Harrison; but a last I was completely wrong. This time around I’m learning to “embrace the bump” by wearing more form fitting options as it’s the most flattering for me at the moment.

Luckily I found this great little LBD @ Zara that could work perfectly even if I wasn’t expecting. I love to be able to purchase pieces like this that I could dress up for a fun cocktail party or dress down with a denim jacket & funky sneakers for a date night.

The material on this dress was a knit nylon combine which allowed for it to hug the body in all the right places & showcased the curves. Small cut out detail on the shoulder also gave the dress a little personality & modern edge.

Plus who can say to a simple black dress that pretty much can be used for any event. Just add a pop of color with accessories, shoes, jewelry or a great handbag & you are ready for any occasion.

I opted to dress this dress with these gold strappy sandals which I also nabbed for $50 at Zara. What I loved about these were the gold leaf type detail to the leather and easy they would be to incorporate to my summer style. You can dress them up with a dress like I did for my cocktail event, down for work with a great pair of pants & blouse or for date night with some jeans & a cute top. They also compliments my grandmother’s cuff bracelets that I wore as my arm candy for the evening.

I’ve linked below the exact dress and shoes from Zara along with some additional options in case you are looking for a versatile little black dress for any upcoming event you may have.
